Capital Gains Tax

This is a complex area of legislation which will almost always require professional advice.

We have all the latest means to hand to enable us to calculate the correct liability and to offer planning before a sale is made.

Sales of businesses and property has become a speciality of ours in recent years. It can sometimes be essential to approach us before making a sale, as often it is necessary to gather information in support of claims; for example, photographic or video evidence.

This may be used to prove for example, that a property is in need of extensive amounts of work, where it otherwise may have seemed like it was being sold below market value to a connected person.

 Residential Property

Where Capital Gains Tax is payable in respect of residential property, for example when a second home or rental property is sold, the gain will have to be reported on an online portal to H.M. Revenue and Customs within 60 days of the sale and this is something that we are able to attend to.
